I am currently on day 15 of a 20-day cold shower challenge that I started on Spar (an app that I previously raved about HERE, for its effectiveness at long-term behavioral change), and it is pretty much life changing.
This challenge came from the wild Wim Hof, aka “Ice Man”, who holds 26 world records and climbed the bulk of Mt. Everest in shorts and shoes. He has completely taken the cold thermogenesis conversation to the next level and made cold...trendy?
Hof assures that you can gain plenty of mind/body benefits simply by incorporating a cold shower into your life, every day. The first few days of his prescribed 20-day challenge were tricky. However, fairly quickly people began reporting that the process was getting easier and that they were actually looking forward to their daily cold shower! So what is going on here? Why would people do this?
