So I thought it could be handy to create a SLEEP BOOK LIST of 3 sleep books that get at the WHY, WHEN, & HOW of sleep (a “Snooze Catalogue”, if you will 🤣).
Even if you were to skim just one...it would be one step closer to unpacking what I believe to be one of THE MOST IMPORTANT SKILL SETS ON THE PLANET.
*NOTE: There are books on sleep training for babies & puppies (yes, puppies!). Not to mention, plenty of advice on how to deal with sleep apnea, narcolepsy, shift workers, etc. My obsession with sleep solely resides in improving sleep latency & quality for non-disordered sleepers. However, if those other topics are of interest to you.. amazon!.
Dr Guy Meadows, The Sleep Book: How to Sleep Well Every Night ⭐This was one of THE books that got me to sleep again when my sleep was at its worst. Meadows does NOT take the tired “sleep hygiene” approach and instead has you think of the best sleeper that you know and take on a similar nonchalant vibe around sleep until it becomes natural. He does a great job at lessing the anxiety that can be built up around get "right" or “perfect” sleep through a number of rituals and exercises.
Bonus: This one 👇 is not wildly popular and only just came out a couple of months ago...but I appreciate it’s simplicity and practical tips to turn your room into a “Sleep Sanctuary”.
